My Skincare Travel Essentials (Especially for Sensitive, Rosacea-Prone Skin)

rosacea skincare tiktok travel Jul 29, 2025
@samanthaschneidermd Packing skincare as a derm = strategic and sun-safe! ✈️🌞 Here’s what made the cut: @BIODERMA USA foaming micellar cleanser & micellar water,@Revision Skincare® DEJ serum, @Vanicream™ Sensitive Skin Care, Sente Ultra Nourish, @EltaMD Skin Care PM therapy, and @isdinusa SPF. Left my retinoid at home—don’t need to be more sun-sensitive on this trip, but I’ll be back on it when I get home! What skincare products can you not live without while traveling? Let’s discuss in the comments!👇 I am not sponsored by any of these companies - just sharing the real life skincare products that I love as a board certified derm. #TravelSkincare #RosaceaFriendly #SPFAllDay #DermLife #SkincareEssentials ♬ The Luxury Lounge - Cassiopeia

Just because I’m away from home doesn’t mean my skincare routine takes a vacation. If anything, travel makes it even more important to stay consistent—especially when dealing with sensitive skin and rosacea like I do.

Here’s a peek inside my travel skincare bag and why I bring each of these products with me:

1. Gentle Cleanser + Micellar Water = A Must

Travel often means sunscreen, city grime, and airplane air. That’s why double cleansing is still a non-negotiable for me. I always pack a gentle cleanser that won’t irritate my rosacea, plus micellar water to help remove tinted sunscreen or makeup at the end of the day. Clean skin is calm skin.

2. DEJ Boosting Serum—My Favorite!

This one’s a staple: Revision Skincare’s DEJ Boosting Serum. It smells amazing, feels even better, and doesn’t contain harsh actives—perfect for travel when my skin tends to get a little stressed.

3. Vitamin C? Still Yes.

Just because I’m traveling doesn’t mean I’m skipping on vitamin C. I brought a gentle version from Vanicream that works well with sensitive skin and helps brighten and protect against environmental stressors.

4. Moisturizers: I Pack More Than One

Moisture is everything when you're flying, changing climates, or adjusting to new water. I brought:

  • Sente Ultra Nourish – calming, soothing, and perfect for rosacea flare-ups.

  • EltaMD PM Therapy – lightweight and great for layering throughout the day as needed.

5. Sunscreen, Always

Sunscreen is non-negotiable. I start each morning with two pumps of my DEJ serum, follow with vitamin C, then apply broad-spectrum sunscreen.
Right now I’m using one I picked up abroad—Iden (not available in the States)—which I’ve been loving. But I also packed my usual tinted SPF.

Pro tip: Use a clear sunscreen on your neck and chest to avoid getting tint on your clothes, and don’t forget to apply sunscreen separately to your hands, neck, and chest—those areas need protection too!

About to show you what I bring when I travel because I believe that it's still important to use your skincare. Here's the gentle cleanser. Really like it because I have sensitive skin. I've mentioned before, I have rosacea. This is so nice, and also brought my cellar water because as we've talked about, double cleansing is really important.

Especially if you're wearing a tinted sunscreen. Now, I am obsessed with this product from revision EJ boosting serum. I absolutely love it. It smells good, it feels good, and it isn't active. I also don't wanna give up on my vitamin C while I'm traveling, so I have this one by Vanna Cream. I brought multiple moisturizer, so I brought the Cente Ultra Nourish, and that's because again, I have sensitive skin, I have rosacea.

So I didn't wanna take a break from this 'cause it's really been helping soothe and calm my sensitive skin. Brought the LTA MD PM therapy put on throughout the day. I start each morning with my DEJ two pumps in my hand.

Put on my vitamin CI bought this. Iden is not available in the States. I really like it. I've been using that as opposed to my typical iden, which I also brought, which I also love. We know that we need the two finger lengths.

Of course, I'm gonna get my hands and my chest separately because we've talked about this. One of my recommendations is to use a clear sunscreen on neck and chest so that you don't get the tint all over your clothes. What products can you not live without when you're traveling? Let me know in the comments.
