1

Do I need a referral to see a dermatologist at Pacific Crest Dermatology? Our office does not require a referral to be seen. However, some insurance companies do require a referral for the visit to be covered by your insurance. Each patient is responsible for ensuring that they have a referral on file if it is required. Our suggestion is to contact the number on the back of your card to confirm if you need a referral. You can contact our office directly to book a consultation. We welcome new patients and are happy to assist with any skin, hair, or nail concerns.

2

What are the signs that I should schedule a skin exam? If you notice new moles, growths, or changes in existing skin spots, or if you have persistent rashes, itching, or irritation, it's important to schedule a skin exam. Early detection of skin conditions can help prevent more serious issues.

3

What should I expect during my first dermatology appointment? During your first visit, we’ll discuss your medical history, any skin concerns you may have, and your treatment goals. Depending on the reason for your visit, we may perform a skin exam, take a closer look at any areas of concern, or discuss personalized treatment options. Our goal is to provide compassionate, thorough care and make you feel comfortable throughout the process.

4

How can I take care of my skin between dermatology appointments? Maintaining a gentle skincare routine, using sunscreen daily, and following any advice or prescriptions from your dermatologist are key to keeping your skin healthy. We recommend using products suited to your skin type and concerns and avoiding harsh treatments or excessive sun exposure.
